The play that I am choosing to critique had the students Mo, Tatiana, Kevin and Megan(?). Their play was about a girl who witnessed her parents split and then had to live a life without a mother. It was a good topic and different from most of the ideas but there was a couple of things off about the play. First thing I noticed was that some of the people in the play did not memorize their lines very well and was looking down at script on the table a lot. This was noticeable and makes the play seem less real as well as disappoints the other students who have their lines memorized and did very well. Second of all there was not much character development. It would have been nice to see how not having a mom affected the young girl besides just making her sad. I feel as if they could have carried the topic a little longer to show the long time effects of not having a mother, maybe on her wedding day with no one to fluff her veil. Just a few thoughts…
